Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can render a driver incapable of operating a motor vehicle safely and is a crime punishable by the law. In Pinecrest, Florida, police have made a move to stop cars at a DUI checkpoint from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 3:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2020, in southwest Miami-Dade. According to Detective Angel Rodriguez of the Miami-Dade Police Department, they have set up the checkpoint at SW 8 Street and SW 88 Avenue which was conducted by the agency's Special Patrol Bureau Motorcycle Unit. They pulled over a specific number of vehicles randomly every 10 minutes.
